Remarkable, Brilliant

This is right up at the pinnacle of my favorite books. Toni Morrison’s reading of it heightens the richness and profundity of the listening experience. Wonderful and extraordinary book/audiobook.

Amazing piece of literature

Loved this book, rich in metaphor and imagery. However, it was extremely dense and difficult to keep up at times. Also, not for the faint of heart.

Better than expected!!

I read the reviews regarding the narration but I disagree I ENJOYED Listening to Toni Morrison's rich melodic voice... she reads it as it's supposed to to 'sound' to the listener.. as for the story I was already very familiar w Beloved Years ago I tried to read it but couldn't get into the story then I saw the movie and wanted to go back to the book, still couldn't get into it BUT I really really enjoyed listening to it and w Toni as the narrator..'

brutal story, haunting prose, required reading for everyone, surely the great American novel . .

Hauntingly Beautiful

Just finished listening...I am stunned! Need to collect my thoughts before I write anything meaningful. Such raw and powerful emotion has me speechless. Devastated. Tears of Joy.
