Beneath the Tainted Soil

War has come to Bourdagne. Mad for vengeance over the death of his son, Count Guibert of neighboring Saule invades with overwhelming forces, ruthlessly slaughtering everyone in his path. The defenders soon find themselves with their backs against a wall in a desperate fight for survival.

Meanwhile, Demetrius is intercepted by bounty hunters while returning to Bourdagne from Toulouse and brought against his will into the conflict. His friends have failed him and are eagerly looking for an opportunity to redeem themselves.

Soon, however, the invasion awakens a deeper evil buried beneath tainted soil in the heart of Bourdagne, and bitter enemies must band together against a rising tide of supernatural darkness that threatens to consume them all.
