Goosebumps now on Disney+

Jaclyn used to live with her aunt Greta in Chicago. But not anymore. They've moved to a place called Sherpia. It's a tiny village on the edge of the Arctic Circle.

Jaclyn can't believe she's stuck out in Nowheresville. No movie theaters. No malls. No nothing. Plus, there's something really odd about the village.

At night there are strange howling noises. And in front of every house there's a snowman. A creepy snowman with a red scarf. A deep scar on his face. And a really evil smile...

The flow of the story is very streamlined and I think the narrator helps capture the feeling of isolation depicted in the book. The themes of Legend, mystery, and the trend of not talking about things due to fear are prime themes in this book.

Like a real legend there's truth in lies and lies in truth. You may say that the ending reveal is spoiled, but knowing how it unfolds is the fun part.

Not to spoil things, but I'd argue that the Aunt's character flaws/ personality lead to MANY of the problems in the story.

Not my favorite Goosebumps story, but enjoyable for what it was.
