Countless reports from credible individuals suggest that something shocking may be stalking the woods of the southern United States—something massive, bipedal, and covered in hair. Tales of these Southern Sasquatch creatures—such as the one made famous by the 1972 horror movie The Legend of Boggy Creek—date back to the very origins of Deep South history, and are reported even today.

While Boggy Creek may be the most famous case, the infamous waterway is only the tip of a much broader mystery, one that spills into the surrounding states and beyond. From Arkansas and Oklahoma, down to Texas, over to Florida, and all the southern states in between, chilling accounts and compelling evidence indicate that a breed of these mysterious, man-like creatures has been successfully hiding in the shadowy foothills, piney woods, and murky swamplands of these areas.

Join acclaimed author and outdoorsman Lyle Blackburn as he traverses woods and waterways, delves into dusty archives, and interviews a host of credible eyewitnesses in search of one of the South’s most enduring mysteries...the Southern Sasquatch.

Lyle Blackburn’s research and writing on the subject of Bigfoot has been widely recognized as some of the best in the field of cryptozoology. His previous books, including The Beast of Boggy Creek and Lizard Man, offer a balanced view of the subject while delivering gripping accounts of this real-life mystery.

Blackburn is a frequent guest on radio programs such as Coast to Coast AM, and has appeared on television shows including Monsters and Mysteries in America and Finding Bigfoot. Blackburn and his research have also been featured in the award-winning documentary film Boggy Creek Monster.

Lots of witness stories which were very interesting. However, the narrator reads way too fast and when he says his s’s, it’s annoying.

Good Story, Bad Narrator

The Many Faces of the Southern Squatch

Lyle Blackburn is a well known and well respected crypto researcher who has written several books on the subject. This book continues his tradition for intriguing, authoritative books. Kyle has written about the Boggy Creek monster and the Bishopville, Lizard Man. This book covers the large number of Southern state sightings of Sasquatch. The number of sightings is as varied as the large area of territory the book covers. Thoroughly and extensively researched, this book chronicles sightings and stories from the 1800s to the present day. As is typical of his books, he presents details in a straightforward manner and allows the reader to draw their own conclusions. He speaks with experts, witnesses and fellow researchers to provide comprehensive coverage of the many varied creatures purportedly inhabiting the South and the differences in physical characteristics and temperaments between North and South Sasquatch. An excellent book for cryptid fans, a must read. Kudos to Lyle Blackburn for another entertaining an enthralling read. Narration is a bit rote.

Loved the movie and loved hearing all the follow ups. Interesting stuff and there is a Bigfoot out there.

Realism in the stories

Some good stories. Some not so good seems like a bunch of repeats from the internet that were embellished. the biggest problem with it is, it's really hard to listen to. the voice needs better filtering from an engineering standpoint. the s's are outrageously loud and even trying to use an "eq" to cut them cuts other parts of the words making it even harder to listen to. sounds almost like it's artificial intelligence. But I don't think so. Because whoever this guy is he cannot pronounce the word Snare correctly.
Might try a country boy to narrator next book. If so give me a shout. just trying to help. -PB

I said on your first book. I wouldn't buy the second one.... but here I am, you got my money anyway. lol

some were good stories. some were not.
