I should have known I’d break the promise I made when I found her stranded in a blizzard…

Feisty as hell and the most gorgeous woman I’ve ever seen.

With the cutest kid and her grandmother in tow, she’s completely off limits.

I don't get involved with women like that.

I learned long ago I don't have the ability to love.

My life is sordid and danger is always hiding in the shadows.

Only I can’t turn my back on them when I realize she’s in trouble, and I insist on them staying in a cabin at the motel I own.

As penance for my sins, I promised my life to protecting others.

Except she becomes so much more.

A need I don’t recognize. A desperation that burns beneath my flesh.

One kiss, and I’m falling for her.

One touch, and I’m at her feet.

But when my dark past comes back to haunt me, I’m in a race against time to save the only woman I’ve ever loved. Only it may be the demons that have been chasing her that destroy what we built…

I have been patiently waiting for Theo's book and I LOVED it! I knew Theo had a past but phew I was not prepared for how gut wrenching it was. Piper's past also pulled on my heart. I really love these two together. Theo is swoony and I love how protective he was of Piper and her son Finn. Nelly was such a fun supporting character and I loved how she brought some light heartedness to the story. The found family in this series has been my favorite thing and I love how they all immediately brought Piper and Finn in.  The suspense in this whole series is so good but this one had my jaw on the floor! I am counting down the days until Cash's story!! 😍💙

Love this series!

I absolutely love the redemption thread thru this series. You know there is going to be a HEA, but it is the journey that is a wild ride.

This book wrecked me in the best way possible. Absolutely amazing. I cried and laughed. The narrators were perfect for the story.

Really really wanted to love this book. The female on narrator wind every sentence. What could’ve been a fantastic storyline sounded like fingernails on a chalkboard. I even tried moving the speed up which didn’t really help. That said she did a great job with the other voices. Just not the main character. I think if it wasn’t for the performance, it would be a solid book. I still read one with the series and hope for the best. If I had it to do again, I would skip this book.

🎧 Audiobook Review – Performance 4.75⭐

Narrated by Teddy Hamilton & Kit Swann

If I loved the ebook, the audiobook made me feel it on an entirely different level. Teddy Hamilton and Kit Swann breathe vivid life into Theo and Piper, drawing you right into their storm.

Hamilton captures Theo’s rough edges perfectly—all grit and gravitas tempered by a quiet vulnerability that makes every whispered promise feel real. There’s a quiet ache beneath it all that absolutely got to me. Swann matches him beautifully, layering Piper’s strength with a gentler fragility and the protective tenderness of a mother fighting for her child. Her delivery in the emotional scenes is breathtaking; you can hear Piper’s courage in every word.
Swann also gives distinct warmth to Nelly and a believable sweetness to Finn, rounding out the sense of family that defines this story. Together, the performances elevate the tension, the heartbreak, and the joy.

The chemistry between their voices mirrors the pull between danger and desire, fear and faith. This dual narration keeps the pace tight and the emotions sharp, making the story even more immersive.
Beyond the Blue Horizon is romantic suspense at its best—powerful, poetic, and brimming with heart. The audiobook brings that intensity to life, leaving you a little breathless and a lot in love with Moonlit Ridge all over again.

If you’ve been following Moonlit Ridge, this one is a must-listen. And if you haven’t started yet… trust me, this is the kind of series you’ll want to experience in both formats.

📚 Book Review (Story – 5 ⭐️ | Spice – 3🌶️)

Beyond the Blue Horizon is romantic suspense at its absolute best — powerful, poetic, and brimming with heart.

Every time I open an A.L. Jackson book, I know I’m about to feel everything, but somehow she still manages to surprise me. Beyond the Blue Horizon isn’t just another installment in the Moonlit Ridge series; it’s the one that stole my breath and my heart completely.

Theo and Piper’s story is the kind of romantic suspense I crave: achingly emotional, dangerous, and tender in all the right places. Theo is the tortured protector who believes love isn’t meant for him, and Piper is the fierce, resilient single mom who’s spent too long running from her past. When fate strands her—along with her son Finn and her firecracker grandmother, Nelly—in Theo’s path, you can feel the shift. The storm outside is nothing compared to the one building between them.

What I loved most is how Jackson layers the intensity with heart. The found-family aspect shines here: the way Finn melts into Theo’s world, the loyalty of the Sovereign Sanctum crew, and the women who create a safe haven out of chaos. It’s equal parts danger, devotion, and the kind of healing that makes you believe in second chances.

Theo and Piper’s chemistry is magnetic, not just lust but a connection that digs under the skin and refuses to let go. Jackson’s prose is pure emotion; it breathes. Her words hit like poetry and stay echoing long after the last line.

“You are every horizon. Every destination. You are the air I breathe and the ground beneath my feet. And because of you, this dead heart beats.”

By the end, I was wrecked in the best way—heart full, tears threatening, and smiling like I’d just come home. Beyond the Blue Horizon is raw, redemptive, and beautifully written. A love story about finding peace after pain and realizing that sometimes the safest place is the one you never expected.

This is my favorite Moonlit Ridge book so far, and that’s saying something.
