As with any short story collection, some are good while others are…not. It was about half and half for me. Some of them ended abruptly, were dull or I didn’t know what it was about.

Some were good

There were one or three that were so so but for the most part I thoroughly enjoyed the stories. Since they were free, they were even more enjoyable. I def recommend

I enjoyed these very much

I appreciated the number of short stories, the book had a variety of writing styles. Some stories seemed to drag on and by the time I reached the end I had lost a little bit of my interest in the story. Other stories flowed and held my interest. I found it funny that a character in one of the stories was a TV character; as I read on I could picture the characters voice and mannerisms. A good way to kill a rainy day. Not a jaw dropping seat of your pants collection but it has enough in it to give a slightly above average rating.

Predominantly male writers

I usually find that short story collections are variable quality but these were to me uniformly good. They also are mainly classic mystery stories.

Excellent Collection

This book is all about books. There are some good stories here, My favorites were C.J. Box, Loren D. Estleman, Laura Lippman and Mickey Spillane & Max Allan Collins stories. Daniel Thomas May was okay on most male voices, but some of the female voices were a little sketchy. Check it out if you have Audible Plus, you have nothing to lose.
