I love Gunnar Staalesen’s books and I live Scandinavian mysteries. He’s one of the best. And Colin Mace reading is wonderful. I can’t imagine anyone else reading the book.

Private Invsetigator Varg Veum at Work!

As a huge fan of the Varg Veum series on MHz Choice, I decided to check out one of the books featuring this cool, dedicated private investigator, created and written by Gunnar Staalesen. It's a fairly standard plot -- Varg is hired to find a young woman who has gone missing. But, the twists and turns of the plot take Varg all over Norway and beyond, illustrating his dogged dedication to completing his mission.

It's a good book -- dark with some difficult moments. But, Varg is clever and smart and always figures things out.

The narration is fine and easy to understand. I wish I knew the locations mentioned but since I've never been to Norway, oh well!
