My partner doesn't believe I'm bisexual, what should I do?

How should I approach sex with someone of a different gender for the first time?

Can I reconcile being bisexual with wanting a biological child?

Identifying as bisexual can be a pretty confusing experience - navigating experimentation versus orientation, at times presenting as a straight-passing member of a queer community, at other times having people discredit your attraction to multiple genders. Lewis Oakley, creator of the Ask A Bi Dad column, knows every trick in the book - and he's here to answer your most burning questions...

Warm, chatty, wise and startlingly honest - this is your new bi bible.©2024 Lewis Oakley (P)2024 Hodder & Stoughton Limited

As a semi-closeted bi woman dating a man, I appreciated the perspective of a Bi man, especially a Bi man in a straight-facing relationship. I would recommend this book to all my fellow Bi boys & girls. This book is also a good way to educate those who aren’t as familiar with bisexuality and want to gain a better understanding.

Overall this book was easy to listen to and informative. I’ve listened to several books on this same topic and this being my last didn’t give me a lot of new info, but it did reinforce ideas, thoughts, concerns and feelings I already had and had read about.
I do recommend the book for anyone struggling or needing some guidance in their journey.

Favorite book on the topic so far. Very open and honest discussion. I think it would be a good book to listen to help you with thought exercises and talking points with your spouse.

Very insightful

I’m going to be honest… In a world where bisexuality is often misunderstood at best and not believed in at worst, Oakley’s book is informed by personal experience in addition to various interactions with other people throughout his life as a bi person and bi activist. As he addresses the frequently asked questions related to bisexuality, Oakley skillfully dismantles common misconceptions and misunderstandings, shedding light on the real experiences of bisexual identity.

I loved how he explores how these misconceptions contribute to the erasure and invisibility of bi people, leaving us feeling unseen, misunderstood, and alone in both the straight community AND the lgbtq+ community. Yet, while reading this book, I felt a profound sense of relatability and validation. The book doesn’t just answer questions; it helps bi individuals like myself feel understood and valued.

I am deeply grateful for this book and wish it had been available to me when I was younger, but at the same time, it came at the perfect time. This book is a must-read for anyone seeking to understand bisexuality better and for bi individuals who want to feel seen and supported.
