FROM THE AUTHOR OF HEMLOCK ISLAND--THE FIRST NOVEL IN THE #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING OTHERWORLD SERIES

“Frisky...Tells a rather sweet love story, and suggests that being a wolf may be more comfortable for a strong, smart woman than being human.”—The New York Times Book Review

Elena Michaels is the world’s only female werewolf. And she’s tired of it. Tired of a life spent hiding and protecting, a life where her most important job is hunting down rogue werewolves. Tired of a world that not only accepts the worst in her–her temper, her violence—but requires it. Worst of all, she realizes she’s growing content with that life, with being that person.

So she left the Pack and returned to Toronto where she’s trying to live as a human. When the Pack leader calls asking for her help fighting a sudden uprising, she only agrees because she owes him. Once this is over, she’ll be squared with the Pack and free to live life as a human. Which is what she wants. Really.

Tired of listening to stories about humans? Consider the werewolf! Taking various forms over the course of centuries and mythologies, often as flesh-devourers, werewolves now commonly appear in fantasy and romance novels as shape-shifters. The shape-shifting element in werewolves' stories has almost humanized them, depicting the internal struggles we all face within ourselves, on some level or another.

Wonderful world created. I felt this was better than the tv series and had a more satisfying end than TV series season 1. I liked the characters so much better. I think the narrator was pretty good. I’m worried about listening to the next book as the narrator sounds so different. I looked forward and most complaints were of the narrators. I’ve decided to read the books instead as I did like this narrator and the characters she helped flesh out with her voice. I totally fell for Clay and decided my imagination needs to keep this Clay alive the way I saw him in this book.

This book will absolutely hook you into the series. Aasne Vigesaa makes this an audiobook. She is Elena! It’s sad that she didn’t voice act for the remainder of the series.
