Sweet romance novelette

Elana was born to a homeless, drug addict mother and left on the steps of St. Patrick Cathedral. Moving from one foster home to another, her life was a revolving door of shattered hopes and disappointments.

As soon as she felt an emotional connection to anyone, the foster kid in her quickly pushed the feeling away. The last thing Elana wanted to do was to get close to someone she would probably never see again. The necessary emotional defense served her well throughout her unpredictable life.

Until she met Luca.

Allowing them only a short time of happiness, cruel fate tore them apart. All she had was hope and half of the rosewood heart pendant he carved to hold onto.

Will they meet again?

tearjerker

So much sadness and loss in a short story made my heart ached for the two main characters. I liked that each one finally got to experience a good home in the end. The reunion wad heartwarming. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator was good.

great read

I received this book for free for a honest review.  I loved the characters and storyline.  it flowed very well and held together.  The narrator did an excellent job of bringing the characters to life.  reccomend

Short but touching

I love love this book. Even though it’s short but moving. There were couple parts brought tears to my eyes. I was glad when Elaina and Luca found each other when the kind old couple took them in. At least for the short time they experience real family love. Tim Shafer did an excellent job now reading this book.

Bittersweet Memories

The characters in this story have so much pain that they have to go through before the end. Be sure to have some tissues nearby.

The narration was good.

Great book

This was a great book. The hard life she lead that started at her birth but in the end she got what she always wanted.
