Desperate for a solution to their endless struggles with weight loss, the supper club members decide to sign on with Wellness Village, a new-age health center promising life-changing improvements through hypnotherapy. It's a mesmerizing experience, to say the least, but when the village's fresh food festival is disrupted by an angry mob of protesters and a local councilman is found dead, librarian James Henry and his friends trade in their newfound sense of calm for a tense hunt for a cold-blooded killer.

Sorting through a list of suspects that includes an herbalist, an acupuncturist, and various other holistic healers who are all cool as cucumbers, the supper club members begin to suspect that all is not well at Wellness Village. But before their efforts can bear fruit, the body of another murder victim is discovered, and James and his friends realize they'll have to sink their teeth into the investigation to help root out a rotten apple.

This is a fun and entertaining series. Ellery Adams does a great job creating realistic characters and well developed mystery. I love this series and I look forward to the next book.

Such a wonderful turn for this group. Best yet in this series. Can't wait to read the next one.

I’m just going to come right out and say it... it’s really weird that James and Lucy act like bff’s now and their entire dating history is just ignored. I will say I like it better that they’re just friends and it’s nice to see James with his family, but it feels really forced in this book. The author really tried to hammer home that James and Lucy are the best of pals & it felt forced.
Otherwise, as usual the writing from Ellery is wonderful, and the narration by Karen is immersive and fun. I really love this series, it reminds me a bit of her “Books By The Bay” series (which is discontinued I think).

I love the supper club!

This series, again, puts the fact out there that the true friendships one is privileged to encounter in one’s lifetime are, indeed, the real family that surrounds one. The series that this author has written that I have thus far read have all made this a point. Family is important, and this series did bring that home in this series more so than the others. What this author has portrayed in each of the series I have so far read is the strength of those friendships, be they familial or cultivated, are what keep us going. It is that essence that has drawn me to her books. I have not had that in my life. I have had friendships that have been close, but I inevitably seem to come to a parting of the ways with those who I have deemed friends. Some my fault and some the fault of others. I somehow was not successful of maintaining - either because of frequent moves, lifestyle, or other things that ended up being my course in life. The series that I have read so far have helped me to gain some insight into areas where I may have trusted too much, and then those times where I was at fault for not maintaining contact after a move or not forgiving enough after a difficult time. And at my age, it is now almost impossible to make the amends with old acquaintances from my past as many of them no longer share this plane with me. But it has helped me many a night to ponder some of the ways I could have behaved in a more forgiving manner, or could have been more understanding of struggles others were going through. This is the fourth series I have read written by this author, and I have no doubt I will embark on more of them. There is the learning I have gained, but also she manages to write of the beauty of the land in which we are privileged to live, the animals and the comfort and beauty they bring to our lives, and the values of the relationships that, if we allow them, we can cultivate and have the maturity to cultivate. I thank this author so very much for sharing her life views with us. For me it has been a blessing and has helped me to understand a bit more about our life with others.

The Power of Friendsheip

I have read almost all of this authors books, but really found this one offensive. I felt the author had an agenda to spread vegetarianism by sharing horrible and disgusting facts about the mistreatment of animals. This book is not for anyone who may be sensitive and easily upset by these horrible practices. I did not enjoy the scare tactics used. This was the weakest of her stories. Don’t bother if you want a good mystery!
