With nowhere else to turn, the family scoured the byways and hillsides of Amberson, Path Valley, and other areas in adjoining counties in search of Carl’s body. And finally, they found him in Huntingdon County, PA, 27 minutes away from his home.

When his body was found, the police revisited the investigation—but only by expanding the murder case to Huntingdon County, despite the blood in Carl’s home. For a year and a half, the case was passed off between the counties. With no help from officials, how could the Ryder family bring their beloved son & brother justice?

Interesting story, great narration!

I thought the story was good and narrator kept me interested the whole entire time!

Black Clover is a great story! The audiobook is narrated perfectly and very enjoyable! I highly recommend it!

Heartbreaking true story

This was a heartbreaking true story, I listened to the entire audiobook last night and this morning. The family’s fight for justice is grippingly told, with detailed accounts of the countless ways the legal system did little to solve this murder. Ali Gifford imbued compassion and clarity into the reading of the book, I feel for the author. I hope this book brought some comfort to the family of Carl Wade Ryder, and to families with similar stories.

A story about fighting for justice

You definitely feel like you are right alongside her through this book. The Narrator, Ali Gifford, allows you to focus on the facts and trail of evidence without distracting the listener.

Wasted my credit on this narrator

Was interested in this book due to it being from my home state. Used my free credit without listening to sample. Big mistake. This book is read in a monotone drone that completely turned me off. Twice I fell asleep. Did not continue to listen. Will read book myself.
