London, 1888. A killer stalks the night, and the streets of Whitechapel are paralysed by fear. But while police hunt for a man, Mina Bergson, a brilliant artist and avid occultist, sees what they cannot. She recognises a terrifying pattern in the slayings: they are not murders, but satanic rituals. The locations of the deaths are forming a malevolent sigil across the very streets of the city.

Now, Mina, along with her love interest, Samuel Mathers, founder of the newly formed Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, and the legendary occultist Madame Blavatsky, must fight a war on two fronts—in the physical world and on the astral plane. They must confront ancient magic and battle a dark secret society, the Meri-Isfet, to prevent an apocalyptic future.
