The Positive:
What I liked about part one is that it incorporated Mesoamerican mythology as the basis. In the sequel Roland added elements of Middle eastern and Pre-Spanish Philippine Mythology.
The Negative.
It's almost as fun as the first book, however one of my beliefs is that there is a time and place for everything. There are some pacing issues in this book, and the middle of a dangerous area is no place to reflect upon your relations or to Physically flirt, while you could be attacked at anytime.

More unique fun

I had trouble finishing it. It definitely feels like an anime with the interactions or the ridiculous moments during serious ones.

The characters have a somewhat shallow relationship lacking those you expect from true lovers. But then again, that is how several anime’s tend to be anyway. So I might be extra picky here.

It is still a fun and pretty relaxing read. And I think Erin Bateman did a great job with the characters.

Feels like an easy anime

Our MC adds to his women as they all continue to travel through these different dungeon levels. Or are they worlds? Each one is different and also a different challenge.
Our peaceful professor may have some anger issues coming out and is taking it out on the bad guys.
It would be great if the warthog played a bigger role in the story. He's an awesome sub-character.
This book is for those that just want a light and fun harem read.

2nd book is better than the 1st one.

I was once again pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this audiobook. The pacing and progression of the storyline are excellent. I still wish this was a dual narration (person preference), but Erin is doing her thing and doing it well.

Just as good as book 1
