For rookie pilot Roland Horn, it's a waiting room. War broke out on the surface of Mars, and yet he's seen nothing. The thrill of putting aging panzerters through their paces has long worn off.

When he receives a distress call from a damaged freighter, he jumps at the break in his tedium. However, his daring rescue inadvertently allows an enemy spy to reach their objectives.

Suddenly, an enemy battle fleet enters the Lagrange point. The system's defenders are nearly wiped out, and civilians flee aboard anything space worthy.

The only thing between them and annihilation is Roland, a panzerter older than he is, and a hastily repaired cruiser named Blackwater. Just like that, the war among the stars has come to him,

It's Gundam meets the Expanse in this new addition to the Armored Warrior Panzerter universe.

good story overall

good story over all. mostly original, with some regurgitation of syfi movies mixed in.

Marked improvement

I was skeptical after Red World War, but the new narrator and no more perspective changes mid-chapter, Blackwater is turning out a lot better!
