To rid this world of evil, I must first blaze.

History tells of a time long ago when small-town scientist Dr. Isaacs discovered the cure for cancer. Great right? And it was...for a time. The "Advanced" were born.

I am one of few remaining immune to a virus created to kill only humans. Broken and coldhearted, I fight tooth and claw to survive, life in the wastes is harsh every day a battle. Baby and I give no quarter to those who cross us. I just want to find and kill the guy who murdered my mother and kill him...slowly.

But destiny has other ideas for me. Four men claim I'm theirs, but am I too broken to be with them? Fate decrees we save the world together, but first we must discover who we really are.

My name is Kayla, and this is a story of how war never changes. But humankind does.

Unfortunately for me this wasn't a great read. Besides the need for more attention to detail when editing and punctuation, the main character is all over the map. I hate men, I want men, I can't love, I want love, I like them, they can't love me, I love them so much, I'm a bada$$ and can look after myself, I'm apart of a group, nope I'm out without a backwards glance. I made it past half way through the book and felt I was a passenger in a manually driven car with someone who doesn't know how to use the clutch.

The moment I started getting into the story and the development something throws the plot off course and gives the reader whiplash.

I really wanted to like it. I mean it's sold as a strong female lead, reverse haram situation, zombie apocalypse, save the world all the while having a lion as a side kick. I think it just needed a bit more structure in the plot and to lose the buffet style of adding more twists.

potential to be great
