The daughter of a Taiwanese father and white mother, Vi Liu has never quite fit into her Midwestern college town. Aimless after getting dumped by her boyfriend and dropping out of college, Vi works at the front desk of a hotel where she greets guests, refills cucumber water samovars, and tries to evade her bubbly blond coworker, Rachel. This book is very quirky and unique

This story doesn't stop surprising even when you think you've figured it out, becoming surprisingly funny, unexpectedly raunchy, and ultimately imaginative. I wasn't ready, but that's okay.

Entertaining until the end

It was a fun, silly listen but then it fell a bit flat.. it felt like the author ran out of steam or word quota or maybe a tad bit of creativity and it just ended in such a blah way

Weird and awesome

I thoroughly enjoyed this unique, well-narrated story. Looking forward to more work from this author.

The humanity of it.?

Great story, it never faltered. Love the main character, and I loved Bob. They have a 15 word minimum, but I think that’s enough.

A good premise but mediocre in execution

Frankly, I couldn’t listen to the whole thing. The constant chatter of the narration delivered in the fast clip of the reader was too much. I’m sorry, I do like to give good reviews for those topics that are close to my heart but there’s a plethora of good books available. I’m going to move on to an audible book that’s easier to listen.
