Disowned and disinherited a year ago,
I am struggling in a way that I had sadly anticipated.

When I get a chance for a little payback teaching one of my high school bullies a lesson, I take it.
Mostly because it came with a lot of money.

That should have been a sign –
The situation was a trap,
And I was foolish enough to fall for it.

Imprisoned with one of my least favorite people,
I know I can’t leave.

For everything he did when we were younger,
He doesn’t deserve the beatings and torture.
Resolved to make sure he escapes,
I start to see him in a new light.

He’s still breathtakingly handsome,
But more importantly, he’s changed.

Am I trapped in the pain of my youth,
Or can I let go of the past and find a new future.

Blood Brother Betrayed (Sexton Blood Brothers Book 1) ~~ I read this book on my Kindle and switched back and forth to the Audible version, and right away I was pulled into this world. This story is dark, emotional, and intense, with a strong foundation built around loyalty, betrayal, and the unbreakable bond between blood brothers. You can feel the tension from the very beginning, and once the betrayal happens, everything changes fast.
The main character’s struggle between honor, rage, and survival kept me completely hooked. I loved how the author didn’t rush the emotional fallout ~ the pain, anger, and confusion felt real. The romance is woven in naturally, adding depth instead of distracting from the main plot. Listening to parts of this on Audible really amplified the intensity and emotion.
This book does an excellent job setting up the rest of the series. It ends in a way that makes it impossible not to continue. I was invested immediately and knew this was a series I would stick with.
I would definitely recommend this book and series and can’t wait to start on the next book. If you want to know what happens next, you’ll just have to read this series yourself ~ you won’t regret it.
