Blood Diamonds

In 1962, a Holocaust survivor is convinced that jewelry on display in a British museum is the same jewelry that once belonged to his family before it was seized by the Nazis in 1938. Determined to learn the truth, he and his lawyer inquire as to the identity of the anonymous donor and why the jewelry was donated to the museum. Tragically, both men are killed in a car explosion in Switzerland outside the home of the donor’s daughter.

Despite exhaustive investigatory efforts by Interpol, Scotland Yard and the Swiss police to trace the ownership of the jewelry and find the person responsible for both deaths, law enforcement has been unable to make much progress. Consequently, an Interpol inspector persuades an internationally renowned retired British jewel thief to assist in his investigation.
Although reluctant to get involved in law enforcement’s investigation, the retired jewel thief has a change of heart and heroically undertakes a bold plan to recover the jewelry.

With a colorful cast of characters that include an unscrupulous thief who has been hired by competing rivals, a treacherous Swiss gemologist, his criminal stepson and the thieves who work for him, a deceitful Berlin entrepreneur who deals in the Black Market, a German billionaire obsessed with acquiring the jewelry and a British socialite who is equally obsessed with recovering the jewelry, as well as members of a Swiss family who are determined to prevent the authorities and others from discovering their darkest secrets.

This is a story of greed, treachery and dishonesty with complex and unexpected plot twists that will leave the reader in limbo until the very end.
