Blood-Red Harbor

Everyone dreams of sailing the galaxies and beyond, seeking that home for humans, for
when Earth runs out of time. There are people working on it in this era, and this story is merely
a few hundred lightyears out.
Murphy's Law precedes that of the technical Engineers, everywhere. A paraphrase is,
"Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong." The more you are surrounded by technology,
the more headaches you will find. But several trillion miles from home, the choices to survive
them are limited.
The Intrepid finds a potential harbor, a port to put into, just as most of the systems
aboard seem to stop functioning. As always, redundancy is the byword. When those run out,
stuff happens.
But this seems a iron rock surrounded by dust miles thick. A dust ball, inhospitable, but
it is the only planet in sight on the scanners and they are running out of air, water and patience.
The humans will do their best to subdue this odd little iron ball...Enjoy! GWT
