For the first time in trade paperback: the fifth novel in the #1 New York Times bestselling series from Laurell K. Hamilton.

When Branson, Missouri, is hit with a death wave 'four unsolved murders' it doesn't take an expert to realize that all is not well. But luckily for the locals, Anita Blake is an expert in the kinds of preternatural goings-on that have everyone spooked. And she's got an 'in' with the creature that can make sense of the slayings-the sexy master vampire known as Jean-Claude.

I have never listened to a audio book that left out so much from the original book. I started this series several years back by reading the actual books. I wanted to get back into them but with my busy life audio books are easier for me. i noticed to the first few that a few things here and there was missing but nothing of true consequence. This book was a different story. At one point two complete chapters were left out that are important to the relationship development between Anita and Jean Claude. once I noticed this I went back to the actual paperback book to make sure I wasn't going crazy and realized SEVERAL important acts and conversations were removed. The ending was even adjusted to leave out her evolving thoughts on Jean Claude and Richard. I won't be continuing the audiobooks knowing I am missing SO much.

wasn't even close to the whole book
