This is the story of how one expat woman left her beloved behind when she moved to France - her beloved kale, that is. Unable to find le chou kale anywhere upon moving to the City of Light with her new husband, and despite not really speaking French, Kristen Beddard launched a crusade to single-handedly bring kale to the country of croissants and cheese. Infused with Kristen's recipes and some from French chefs big and small (including Michelin star chef Alain Passard), Bonjour Kale is a humorous, heartfelt memoir of how Kristen, kale, and France collide.

Would you listen to Bonjour Kale again? Why?

I don't care much for the reading style but the good story made up for that.

Any additional comments?

While I have no interest in kale, I liked hearing about the cultural differences. I listen to a lot of stories about living in France as a transplant. Some of it reminds me to slow down and leave out the parts in life that really don't matter, and some of it reminds me that we are go-getters here in the U.S.

Brave woman for moving a continent away.

I didn’t think I’d enjoy this book—oh, how wrong I was! It was a total page-turner! Kristen Beddard’s compelling story of moving abroad and searching for kale was the perfect companion as I spent hours cycling the trails near my house. I always love listening to a captivating story to help me forget the burning in my muscles as I’m exercising.

Loved this fantastic story.
