This stirring historical memoir reclaims a family’s truth long buried beneath silence and migration. Spanning centuries, Bound by Blood, Freed by Truth traces the Evans–Gibson lineage from Jane Gibson—a free Indian woman in a time when freedom defied the norms—to a legacy marked by resilience, resistance, and redemption.

Through charts, court records, and generational storytelling, Susan L. Kadera uncovers lives shaped by faith, courage, and the enduring power of identity. More than a genealogy, this book is a restoration of a name worth knowing—a tribute to those who fought for belonging, justice, and the preservation of heritage across time and soil.

Perfect for listeners drawn to Native American history, family legacies, and stories of truth-telling in the face of silence.

Such a beautiful historic family history and efforts to correct the wrongs done through history. There a probable so many families that endured the same disrespect. Narrated beautifully by Ms Galloway whose voice kept me so interested and entranced that I listened to the whole book my first time hearing it. If i write a book, I would be honored to have Cindi B Galloway bring it off the pages to life
