This book has me split between enjoying parts that are not typically in other books and then hating the briefness.

I like that the FMC is a sweet gentle girl. So many books make the FMC this hard a** who fights everything, refuses to do anything. Thats how they put in the angst and the tension. In this book shes kind, gentle, sweet. She falls in line pretty quickly even though in her mind shes fighting and withholding herself. She doesnt want to be with the MMC and has no intention of changing her feelings.

The MMC is an over the top obsessive Mafia boss. He arranges it to where he gets the girl by making her dad go into so much debt he feels like he has no choice. The MMC is very controlling, demanding and expects even her responses to be a specific way. All sexual interactions can be considered straight up non consent.

With all that being said the book is lacking a key element, details! The sexual scenes are not detailed, how the MMC's get from point A to point B isnt explained. For example, she states she learned quickly to answer and talk to him in certain ways or there would be punishments. We never see that so the punishments could be a dirty look for all we know.

good base story but failed to have any romance

seemed more like a horror story then a dark romance. at no point did she have feelings for him. at no point did he explain having feelings for her other then obsession and control. the story could have been a really good one. but the author failed the most of basic things in a dark romance. the romance. this is more of a bio of someone being kidnapped graped and the amount of surrfrage she endures

Review for the Entire series

I cannot believe the MFC made this toxic f’d up situation seem ok. Like she’s pregnant and co-signs that her child will be ok to grow up in this environment. I would’ve set the whole house on fire. I can’t take a weak willed woman. Like she had opportunities to slice this man’s throat and didn’t. He never changed and is partly (wholly) crazy. Like her baby is gonna be a psychopath. This is an origin story for those diddy style relationships. This was pathetic. I should’ve listened to the comments

AI Narrator was awful. It was like listening to Siri tell a story.
Female character was forced to have sex with her captor.

Ummmm I would like to read a book on human trafficking, abuse, rape, isolation.. said no one ever.

I mean I guess read this book if you want to learn what not to do.. do not sell your child to pay off debt.. and here’s a story of what will happen to to her if you do.
