My mission was a rescue op. It turned into a death sentence. As a Special Space Forces operative, I was sent to the savage planet of Kroel to locate a missing science team. Instead, I stumbled onto a black-site facility run by rogue Earth agents. When the base went up in flames, my own command left me for dead to protect their secrets. Now, I’m wounded, weaponless, and caught in a jungle that wants to eat me alive.

But I’m not the only one hunting the traitors.

There's something else in the trees. An unseen shadow picking off the rogue agents one by one. When I come face-to-face with the entity, I don't find a monster; I find Varen.

He's a Xenjia Elite, a high-tech warrior bound by ancient honor codes and armed with an arsenal that could level a city. By all rights, our first encounter should have been my last. We fought, and I should have been just another skull on his trophy rack.

He claimed me instead.

Now, the rogues are closing in, and my only chance of survival lies in an uneasy alliance with the galaxy's deadliest hunter. Varen is possessive, primal, and terrifyingly skilled, shielding me from the jungle's nightmares with a ferocity that shatters every rule of his warrior code. But as the heat between us turns into a firestorm, I realize he isn't just protecting a strategic asset.

He’s guarding his mate.

Overall it was ok. You really can't beat free in Plus if you don't like it just don't finish. That said this was enough to hold my attention but not enough that I'll think about it once I'm done writing this
