Yes, you can say no to your child and still be a loving parent. Discover how setting biblical boundaries can make your parenting better today!

Join Drs. Henry Cloud and John Townsend, authors of the New York Times bestseller Boundaries, as they share the research and guidance you need to raise your kids to take responsibility for their actions, attitudes, and emotions. What Boundaries has done for adult relationships, Boundaries with Kids will do for you and your family.

Using biblically backed principles, including respect, stewardship, and self-control, Drs. Cloud and Townsend share the lessons they've learned firsthand after decades of working with families across the country. The tools and support they provide in Boundaries with Kids will change the way you view healthy boundaries, no matter where you are in your parenting journey.

With wisdom and empathy, they take you through the ins and outs of instilling the kind of character in your children that will help them lead balanced, productive, and fulfilling adult lives. You'll learn how to:

  • Define appropriate boundaries and consequences for your kids
  • Set limits and still be a loving parent
  • Bring balance to an out-of-control family life
  • Apply the ten laws of boundaries to your parenting
  • Understand the six steps to implementing boundaries in your home

I appreciate the fact that the outcome of successful boundaries is discussed. This book points out the reasons to stand firm and an idea of which battles to pick all for the sake of your child's development. It focuses on how to help your child grow in healthy emotional and moral ways.

Taking some of the frustration out of parenting

This book is virtually perfect. I have read it possibly 10 times, and as a teacher and a parent I keep finding new ideas and insights that I could only understand after acquiring more life experiences. The Audible version gives extra credibility to the knowledge acquired from the book-you can hear the speakers' kind tone and confidence.
The matters discussed are of great complexity, but as Mark Twain said something like: "I don't have time to write you a short letter", the beauty and greatness of this book is that those mattars are explained with great clarity and simplicity. Only a lifetime of professional and personal experience and a very clear mind, could produce such profound and potentially complicated ideas, in such simple words.
The writers (and narrators) are devout Christians, so you might think that this book is not for everyone. But this book's ideas, examples, and generally, human needs and child development principles, are universal, so the devout Christian tone comes off as a beautiful and harmonious, and a natural part of the book. I recommend reading/listening to it, and possibly, like me, you will enjoy it still after a few readings.

A Must read. A Nearly Flawless Book.

I wish this wasn’t an abridgment, I would’ve given it five stars if it was the full book. Otherwise I enjoyed it very much and learned a lot.

I needed this! I didn't learn hardly any of this growing up.

The authors gave me principles... and also examples to help me visualize these abstract ideas in everyday life. Very good teaching!
