Not commenting on the classic, it is obviously an excellent read. However, the narrator is horrible. The intonations are unnatural. You would think someone, who is reading the 19th century book with French phrases, words, and names would make an effort to learn how to pronounce them properly in French, but the narrator did not take time to do this.It would be perfect if not for an awful narration.

Horrible narration

This might just be the best book ever written! If you understand Russian at an advanced level do yourself a favor and listen to this rendition. The performance of the reader is superb. It doesn’t get better than this!

The best book ever!

It is hard to find words to review this. The whole world knows it is a classic. The narrations was amazing, like being in a theater. I am 58 years old, and it took me this long to be able to read(or listen) to Dostoevsky. As a teen growing up in the former Soviet Union, I tried to read his works, but promptly put it down, because it was "hard". Since Russian is my mother tongue, I decided to listen to it in the original language. It's incredible. Dostoevsky's genius, the depth of his understanding of human soul, philosophy and psychology, is beyond words. I cannot even say that I "enjoyed" this book - it would not do justice - I felt shaken to the core.

Amazing performance and a brilliant story. Reading it almost 20 years after I first read it in 8th grade. What a difference in perspective and depth. Dostoevsky is a true genius. So glad I could read it in native Russian, especially since the narrator is so talented.

Narrator is unbelievable. Best I've ever heard!
