But there is a complication that, at first, misleads the detectives: Months previously, Blakemore killed an inmate when visiting a prison.

Police Procedurals Mystery

Editorial reviews

Since Sherlock Holmes, the police procedural has been a staple of British fiction. Enter Brock and Poole, two detectives whose creator - the renowned Graham Ison - is probably the most qualified writer to ever add to this genre. Ison’s 30-year Scotland Yard career includes much work on espionage cases and fuels his vivid renderings of how it all happens. Performer Damian Lynch’s wry, masculine voice complements Ison’s humor and suspense perfectly.

Breach of Privilege, the eighth in the Brock and Poole series, places our cool but committed detectives in the middle of a thorny case: an MP is assassinated months after he killed an inmate. Just how far down does the underworld go? Ison will have you biting your nails and chuckling at the same time.

Scotland Yard DCI Harry Brock and DS Dave Poole and Aussie native DI Kate Evden begin with the investigation of the daylight shooting of a peer and end up with a FBI Agent Joe Daly working on the task of extraditing a mafia assassin back to NYC. Excellent snarkfest!
Narration by Damian Lynch was very good at differentiating people and snarks. And that's a good thing!
