The boys give no thought to what they could lose, or to the demons that drive their mentor on into ever-greater danger. Venturing beyond all caution—in sports, relationships, and sex—each character approaches a point from which none of them will return undamaged.

Amazing surfing descriptions

I love Tim Winton and this book is no exception. His descriptions of water and surfing are evocative. Character development was good too. I had watched the film first, then read the book, and it didn't disappoint. I honestly think it was more descriptive than the movie!

Captivating

Story is captivating and draws the reader in in its subtle and sneaky manner . Finished it in two days. Just loved it!
