Anne Tyler's characters are simultaneously funny and sad, heroic and pathetic and none more so than Maggie and Ira...you end up thinking you've known this family all your life (John O'Farrell)

Insightful but a bit long

This books offers real insights into marriages. It mixes middle life crisis with mature marriages’ ups and downs. but parts of the book could have been trimmed a bit. The ending was well-written.

It's one of the best novel I have been.

Although the story is plain and normal daily life but it makes me warm, hearty. I love it.
