The Institute group is woken in the middle of the night to explore an island with an omega-shaped building that has risen out of the Atlantic. It’s the same building the first IA group went to see in 1872 that resulted in their permanent government detention.
The current group insists on a letter protecting them from a similar outcome, but only one of the National Security Commission chiefs is available. The letter they get is not binding. They land, and what they find upends everything they thought they knew.
