One of the greatest

One of the best sci-fi military novels I've ever had the pleasure of listening to. Unvelievably excited for the game's release.

It's not just satisfying, it's status quo!

Brad Buckmaster's follow-up to the game, 'Brigador,' and his previous novel by the same name, is just as gritty as ever. His writing style emphasizes the mechanical nature of the heavy metal in this universe and shows a clear disparity between the weapons power and the fragility of the people using them. Brad has once again demonstrated his mastery of writing frantic combat that avoids falling into a slow description of back and forth blows, keeping the energy moving.

Brigador isn't a universe full of heroes or villains, just people with motives, and Brad does an excellent job of showing how even the most noble of intentions can take us down paths of complete self destruction. You'll never get what you want, but you'll find what you need in this tale of blood, guts, and cold-hard steel.

A new story

Not the same at all as the first. I was hoping for something more like the first book, but as with the setting of this one on another planet, so is the story. it wasn't what I wanted, but what I needed. A story of desperate revenge. I do hope these books keep coming. I enjoy these more than most of the warhammer 40k books. Brad Buckmaster really delivers from his own experiences. The narration is perfect, and the music really adds to the experience.

Revenge isn't sweet

Buckmaster really went all in on this. Non stop, fast and loose carnage. I have a soft spot for revenge stories and this is now easily my favorite.

Nasty, brutish, and short (in the best way)

This was a street fight of a book - the hits come quick, never stop, and leave you dazed by the end. The writing is utilitarian and tight, perfect for pace the book sets. The author clearly has military experience and he expertly leverages it in support of the story being told. The narration is excellent, elevating the experience beyond the already solid prose. If you like quick, violent trips through a few miles of moral ambiguity, you won't find a better ride than this one.
