From #1 New York Times bestselling author Jenny Lawson comes her most personal book yet.

As Jenny Lawson’s hundreds of thousands of fans know, she suffers from depression. In Broken, she explores her experimental treatment of transcranial magnetic stimulation with brutal honesty. But also with brutal humour. Jenny discusses the frustration of dealing with her insurance company in ‘An Open Letter to My Insurance Company’, which should be an anthem for anyone who has ever had to call their insurance company to try and get a claim covered. She tackles such timelessly debated questions as ‘How do dogs know they have penises?’ We see how her vacuum cleaner almost set her house on fire, how she was attacked by three bears, business ideas she wants to pitch to Shark Tank, and why she can never go back to the post office. Of course, Jenny’s long-suffering husband Victor, the Ricky to Jenny’s Lucille Ball, is present throughout.

A treat for Jenny Lawson’s already existing fans, and destined to convert new ones, Broken is a beacon of hope and a wellspring of laughter.

This audiobook includes an exclusive bonus chapter.

Critic reviews

The author recounts her incredibly relatable, awkward social interactions and worst fears all the while crediting her steadfast husband, Victor, for being her rock. With vigorous pacing, every frantic thought and wacky scenario is presented in an authentic voice that each listener will not only understand but also recognize as being within their own mental capacity.

Chapter 5,9 and 11 were rough.

I didn't know that you could pick up someone's energy from hearing them.I could feel my spirit going down in those chapters .

Not to say that it all dull the author uses alot of humor which is funny and sad at the same time.

There were also many aha moments about life in general for instance the things that you may do so effortlessly but for others require a great deal. Chapter 11 I feel is like an open letter on mental health and key take aways is that survival is about(not limited to) acceptance, resources, transparent insurance firms, support and self will to fight and put in the work.

Thanks to the author for sharing her story and sending best wishes on her health.Highly recommend this to those of us(or anyone) who need to laugh at and learn about our invisible disabilities.
