Rebekah Nemethy
Mirna Fowler believes she has been cheated in life, growing up in a broken home alone with a drunken and gambling-addicted father. Now she works at a small hair salon in Reno, doing her best to survive while she saves money for school and hoping to get a degree that will take her places. But in the wake of her father's death, Mirna inherits his extravagant debt, an amount of money she can never repay. As her fractured world begins to crumble, the search for the truth sets her on a path where life hangs on her every move.

In Burn Cards, author Christopher Irvin introduces us to Mirna Fowler, who’s gambling father causes more problems for her than any support he has ever provided. The story entwines the main character into the ugliness that Reno and other gambling towns have to offer. While the ending perhaps left me wanting much more, the ride to get there was well worth it.
This novella is presented to us by Rebekah Nemethy who brings the characters to life in a way that has you gasping for something good, anything good really, to just come to life for Mirna. Rebekah’s subtle and competent voice brings this book from an ok read to a phenomenal performance!
I hope that Mirna makes another appearance at some point of time. I really want to know what all has transpired from the point of the book ending. Regardless, if Rebekah Nemethy is performing the book, it will be stellar!
I was provided a free copy of this book to voluntarily review. I have provided an honest review of this title.
