Charlie: Hiding isn’t what I’d call living. For the last four years, I’ve felt trapped between the life I want to live and the one I should’ve lived. My past has broken me, creating a shell of the woman I once was.

Until Jackson. My fated mate who’s willing to save me from the truth that can destroy this town. Despite every belief, I hold of never being loved again. I can’t deny the natural pull that binds me to him. Giving him the power of destruction over my heart will be something I’ll never recover from.

Jackson: The weight of truth sits heavily on my shoulders. I can’t escape my past and the pain it’ll bring to those I love, but when my brother calls, I have no choice. Returning to Solaris to take over as Alpha is a fate I’ve always known was inevitable, a responsibility I’ve always dreaded.

That is, until her. Charlie has changed everything. The future is brighter with her in it. Now, nothing will stop me from claiming my seat and my girl.

I enjoyed this fascinating paranormal shifter romance novel, it’s interesting storylines captivated my attention the entire time. The characters are relatable and easy to connect with, and the two leads are likeable, there are some great secondary characters, too. Rose, with the help of her brother, escaped from what would have been a brutal life, but the escape did not have consequences. Rose took refuge in Solaris Village, along with a new identity, and is trying to put that life behind her, but it broke her heart that her brother never made it to the village, and she blames herself for that. Jackson did not like what was happening in Solaris Village or what his father was up to, so he left and joined the military, but he is back and the new Alpha for the pack. The moment he saw Charlie, he knew she was his fated mate, and when he saw how fragile she was, he approached her with care. It was great watching their relationship grow and morph into something so much more. There is never a dull moment in this book, and the story has the perfect balance of drama, both relationship, family and pack drama, angst, heartfelt emotions, and steamy romance The writing, plot and world building are great, as are the character growth and development. KM Bell, thank you for this terrific story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧  Gabriel De Leon and Vivienne Ferrari did a terrific job bringing the characters to life, understanding who they were portraying and giving each a voice that was fitting and believable. De Leon nailed it as Jackson, playing the alpha role perfectly, while showing his softer and caring side when with Charlie. Ferrari was a natural in Charlie’s role, grasping all sides of her personality, from her insecurities to her grief and guilt-ridden inner turmoil, and grew as her character grew. Both were great at performing the roles of the side/secondary characters too. They are entertaining storytellers, and their captivating performance rivets you to the story.

Burning Phoenix is the second book in the Solaris Village series. This is a heart-wrenchingly, heartbreakingly beautiful story about two werewolves who are fated mates. Jackson has been away from home serving in the military for years. He returns to take over as alpha of the Solaris Village pack. Charlie has been with the pack for a few years after escaping her abusive situation. When these two wolves meet, they discover that they are fated mates. In this book there are many twists and turns, surprises along with action, drama, intrigue and suspense. The narration by Gabriel De Leon and Vivienne Ferrari was absolutely phenomenal. They portrayal each and every character perfectly. They brought the story to life. Gabriel De Leon was exceptional in his role as Jackson. He had a stern alpha voice when needed and a softer teddy bear/ cinnamon roll voice for Charlie. Vivienne Ferrari was fabulous as Charlie. You could feel all of Charlie’s emotions through her voice. Listen to this brilliant audiobook and learn more about Solaris Village, Jackson, Charlie, the pack and the new security guys. I highly recommend listening to this audiobook.
