Inspired by true events — one accusation can destroy everything.

Eighteen-year-old soccer prodigy Davis Day had the world at his feet: a college future, a loyal team, and dreams of playing professionally. All it took was one lie to rip it all away.

Branded a criminal before he can defend himself, Davis watches his name, his friendships, and his future collapse. Pressured into a plea deal he never should have taken, he’s trapped in a nightmare where the truth doesn’t matter — and every day feels like another nail driven through the life he once knew.

Butterfly is a haunting and unflinching novel about injustice, betrayal, and the silent suffering of the falsely accused. It’s a chilling reminder that sometimes the truth isn’t enough… and once a lie takes flight, there’s no telling how far it will go.

Content Advisory: This novel contains emotionally intense scenes, including depictions of sexual trauma, social ostracism, and self-harm. These elements are portrayed with sensitivity and purpose, but may be distressing for some listeners.

Butterfly by Orion Monroe hits way harder than I expected. This is not an easy topic to write about false accusations, mental health, the justice system, but Monroe handles it with so much honesty and skill that you feel every ounce of what Davis Day goes through. The courtroom scenes are tense and real, the bipolar elements are handled with care, and the writing puts you right inside Davis’s head without ever spoiling anything or giving too much away. He’s not written as a perfect victim, and that’s exactly why he feels so real. It’s raw, it’s emotional. Orion Monroe did an incredible job telling a tough story in a powerful way.Highly recommend.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 10/10 — A fearless, unforgettable story.
