Capitalism is Broken! But if you're reading this, I probably don't have to tell you that. In years past, we had the American Dream. It was the belief that if you worked hard, you would be able to have a home, raise a family, have vacations, and eventually retire. Companies used to provide a pension. But now, we are left to fend for ourselves. We work around the clock to barely survive until we drop dead at our jobs. What happened to our society? Now we are the victims of trickle-down economics, neoliberalism, and hyper-capitalism. We haven't had a raise in the federal minimum wage in 15 years. Many workers languish making $7 an hour. Our social security system is in danger of bankruptcy while the 1% pay a lower percentage of taxes than we do! Our infrastructure is crumbling while our deficits soar. Both political parties have let us down. We need to become involved and take back our country for the future of our families. In this book, we will explore different possible solutions. This book will explore the history, pitfalls and benefits of capitalism. Capitalism isn't always oppressive. The middle of the 20th century was referred to as the Golden Age of Capitalism. During this time, the middle class grew and the infrastructure that supports our country was built. We can fix capitalism and save the middle-class. Our founding fathers never intended for capitalism to be oppressive. They could never imagine the Mega Corporations of today oppressing the workers, corrupting our officials and even influencing what we think and how we behave. This book will explore the solutions needed to bring prosperity and equality to everyone. We will learn about what we need to take this country back from the 1%.
