CARNALITY

In its most common sense, carnality refers to being excessively preoccupied or dominated by physical pleasures and desires. Also, it can be understood as an emphasis on worldly or bodily matters rather than spiritual or intellectual ones. Carnality is often the opposite of spirituality and righteousness in some religious beliefs. Carnality implies a focus on physical sensations, appetites, and desires, particularly sexual-related ones. It can also refer to an emphasis on earthly, temporal matters over eternal matters. The term often carries a negative impression, suggesting excess, indulgence, and lack of self-control. Carnal people may be overly concerned with physical appearance, indulge in sensual pleasures, or prioritize worldly pursuits over spiritual growth.

*Carnal people focus on earthly, fleshly desires rather than spiritual matters. Living according to our instincts and impulses leads to behaviors contrary to God's Will. An absence of spiritual depth or maturity; superficial, or worldly. A person like that expresses every inner desire and impulse.
