Out of her comfort zone I think, but well done. A story that captures your imagination and makes you wonder, "what if?" Hardest part to read is about the dogs, but Laurie King always puts a bit of and edge in her novels. Glad I read it.

Well done Ms. King

Very different but this is Laurie King at her best. I would recommend it to all.

I first read this book several years ago. I have read it a couple of times since then, and I dream about there someday being a sequel.

A story that lasts for years in my heart

Speculative fiction about a world where men have become fragile and rare, and women run the world out of necessity. It's a bit sprawling, but it's a good read. The dogs might well be the best part of it in some ways. It covers the complexity of the male/female spectrum, in some interesting concepts. Not a great book, but a good read.
