Caregiver’s Guide to Dementia by Stella Stone is such a helpful aid for not only caregivers, but someone who might be trying to learn more about dementia, or even the individual who has been recently diagnosed. Being someone who has personally lived with a family member for 10 years who suffered from this disease, I did not expect to learn as much as I did or gain so many insightful tips!! I desperately wish my family and I had this book when we went through our own experience, but take my advice and buy this book!!!!

A must have!!!

As a physician who frequently manages the elderly population, this book is an excellent source for families to learn about dementia. It went over the common types of cognitive impairment, touched on the pathophysiology, and explained the best approach when seeking out doctors. Most importantly however, this book offered many interesting stories and examples of people caring for their loved ones with dementia. These stories dove into how one can reduce stress, improve safety, and maximize quality time with family. The book is concise enough to get through in a day or week. Again, highly recommend this as a starting point for families and even patients who deal with dementia.

Highly Recommend to my patients and their family!

This book is so amazing because it guides someone with no experience in healthcare how to provide top notch care to someone living with dementia. There’s more factors to think about than you expect, and this book spells it out for you. More than that, it focuses on how to find moments of happiness throughout the process by providing tips + other real world examples of how other people going through this have done it.

Great read!!
