This is a short novel about a troubled, retired police officer struggling with PTSD.

Detective Saverio has been living off the grid in Upstate New York since he retired, trying to forget the travesties of his military and police careers.

When he thinks he has finally buried some of his past and learns to deal with his nightmares, a car shows up unexpectedly and changes his life. As a well-known tracker and outdoorsman and respected detective, he is asked to come out of hiding to consult on the death of a young woman. Detective Saverio struggles with his own insecurities and the web of lies and suspicion of a small town rooted deep in the Adirondack Mountains.

Great Story, Great Narration

Very interesting story about the area where I am from, written by an author that grew up in the area. I listened to the audiobook and found myself not wanting to miss a single second! The book is so descriptive you are able to imagine the story taking place in front of you. The plot was easy to follow and left you wanting more of Detective Saverio's investigations.
