A forgotten people.

A past betrayal.

And a girl who wasn’t supposed to survive.

Nineteen-year-old Riley Stevens is certain of one thing: she should be dead.

So when she wakes from a suicide attempt-- alive, confused, and commanding a strange blue light--one question consumes her: Why is she still here?

Haunted by beckoning visions and desperate for answers, Riley embarks into the rugged wilderness of the Pacific Northwest. As she wanders through overgrown trails and forgotten towns, she discovers her connection to an ancient civilization on the brink of extinction. Now, Riley has a new reason to survive: to restore her people and protect Earth from a foretold darkness.

But she is hunted by one of her own.

Struggling to control her powers, Riley must accept the scars of her past and learn to trust not only others but herself. If she realizes her potential, she could change the world. If she doesn’t, she’ll lose everything,Including her second chance at life.

Catchers: Book One is an adult contemporary fantasy/adventure novel. Join Riley Stevens on her journey through the Pacific Northwest as she discovers hidden cultures, powerful enemies, unlikely friends, and a new purpose in life.

This one is so stinking good!! I've read Kinner's other stuff and I really really like this one the best. I felt like the protagonist in this one was the most relatable and the story was NOT predictable. I really liked that. I hate when I see the ending coming from far off. Overall I'm super excited for the next one in this series! the only complaint I have is I wasn't a huge fan of the narrators "male" voice for the character Daniel. but really really loved the voice actor for Riley so basically awesome book, and good voice acting! hence the 5 stars

Personally, best RJ Kinner book yet!
