Good read

Interesting read. Has a sister book . I like to switch genres so I’ll most definitely be reading the other one soon.

I was moved to tears

the entire book kept me captivated. my lineage is similar to the main characters. I felt the pain as if my own relatives stories were being told.

Adversity to slaves,

I liked the book but felt for the slaves. Very greedy! Loved the history behind it.

Wonderful Book for quiet nights

The book was delightful and full of southern charm. The families were really real. The father of Emily was as I imagined plantation owner's, he was cold, nasty and more worried about money then people.

Moving historical fiction

I liked the content and the performance. It was an excellent audiobook for anyone interested in this period.
