He wants me to stay out of his way. I want to get under his skin.

One look at single dad Callum Blackwood, and I know I messed up. I never meant to save a farm—or steal it from under the grumpy innkeeper who had already claimed it as his future.

Now I’m the woman who swooped in on a whim and left him seething.

Trouble is, I have no idea what I’m doing.

Every smirk, every biting comment, is a reminder that he’s waiting for me to fail. But I don’t back down from a fight—even when the fight comes with a jawline that should be illegal and a scowl that sets my pulse racing.

Tempers flare, but when the lines between rivals and lovers begin to blur, I start to see him in a different light. The longer we go toe-to-toe, the more I understand the man behind the scowl. The one who loves his kid fiercely, who carries the weight of the world on his shoulders, who looks at me like I’m the reason the sun rises.

Cal’s wrong if he thinks I’ll give up on this farm. He’s even more wrong if he thinks I’ll give up on him.

But holding a man like him is like chasing the sun—brilliant, blinding, and bound to set your entire life on fire.

A small town with a ghostly resident and a second chance? Count me in. This was a super fun and sweet start to a new series with a spunky heroine and a grumpy innkeeper who are perfect for one another. I loved how Elodie and Callum went from friends to rivals to lovers again in this spicy small town read. We meet a whole new cast of characters and I loved how the mystery of Lady of the Dunes left me wanting to know more. When Elodie discovers that her boyfriend is cheating on her with her friend and business partner, she returns home to Star Harbor to figure out her next steps. There she ends up in a dilapidated cottage with a plan to save the town’s biggest farm which puts her in the path of Callum, the owner of the inn next to the property who wants to buy the farm. He is a grumpy, single dad and despite being at odds over the future of the farm, their chemistry is instantaneous. What follows is a delicious slow burn romance while the battle over the farm and fall in love without even realizing it.

This small town, enemies to lovers, next door neighbors, single dad, grumpy sunshine romance is a super cute read that is perfect to cozy up with. I enjoyed this story immensely in audio. Stephen Dexter and Megan Wicks are fantastic as Callum and Ellodie performing in duet narration, and they did an admirable job voicing all the supporting character’s voices too. They were consistent and it was super easy to tell each of the characters apart. Overall, I really enjoyed how sweet Elodie and Callum’s love story was, but how intense the battle over the farm became. They do end up coming to a pretty simple solution which seemed obvious, but I loved how the path to the solution let Callum do his groveling. The way things ended made me love them that much more. I really enjoyed this amazing romance and can’t wait to see who is next to find love in the series.

Lena has blessed us with a tattooed, grumpy man…and he cooks. Raw, next question.

I absolutely loved Cal and Eloise’s story. This book is about two people who are trying to find their purpose, and to which they find each other along the way.

The story was weaved so nicely together and I just adored watching them fall in love from their dislike at first meeting. And Levi, Cal’s son, was just the cherry on top for these two. He was just written so dang well.

We get some mystery that I cannot wait to see unfold as the series continues!! Lena always writes the best mystery plot throughout her series and it makes me giddy for the future books!

Great start to new series

A great story! So enjoyable to have earlier characters show up in a cameo. I look forward to the next one in the series!

Superb narration!

this story is more like chasing a dream each character seems to be doing exactly that chasing their dream. I feel like the female character doesn't realize it at first but She grabbed grabs a hold and is exactly that going after her dream. until two dreams collide which kind of is what happens it's a good story entertaining this is done in Duet Style so the mail does the male parts and the female does the female parts this is the first time I've ever heard this female narrator and I didn't like her a lot she did an excellent job with the story as well as Steven but I've heard him before and he's always done well. I'm hoping that we're going to get more star Harbor I do believe we are but one will have to wait and see

I have a new favorite Lena book! I really love the way she is able give life to her small towns, they feel like a main character all on their own, and she created the best intrigue in this one. Star Harbor has a ghostie legend and lost love story that I can’t wait to find out more about throughout this series. And for the actual MCs, Elodie and Callum - these two have a rivalry and forced proximity that turns into fantastic chemistry. I immediately loved Elodie, she is all sunshine and sass, and trying to figure out where she fits and what to do next after a betrayal. And who doesn’t love a broody, single dad, who can cook?! One of my favorite parts was definitely the bond that grows between Elodie and Levi (Callum’s son). I could relate to so many little things in this book. And that ending, oh my gosh. This whole series is going to be incredible!

🎧 I feel like Stephen Dexter had fun with the characters, he had a distinct voice for each of them (and there were several), and I just adored everything about his performance. And is it a coincidence that every one of the FMCs Megan Wick’s portrays become my favorite? if you haven’t listened to her yet, please do yourself a favor and grab an audio narrated by her, she’s amazingly talented, I love listening to her! These two are two of my favorites, and I was happy to have them together in duet for this one.

Love everything about it!
