Childland is the story of a group of children journeying through an adult world. The wicked headmaster “Evil Ear” and his teacher friends battle against the kids to turn them into grownups. It’s a war to the death, with no holds barred. The children vow to stay children forever, and even when they grow up—they will always be children at heart.

A grownup is a child who forgot he used to be a child, forced to wear a grownup mask for so long that he doesn’t remember what’s beneath the mask and who he really is. He’s forgotten to play, laugh and have fun, and instead just goes to work in the morning and comes home in the evening. The children in the book, and the readers who go along on their journey, gather meaningful experiences that will hopefully keep them children forever. Will they succeed?

The book is meant for everyone, but especially for the grownup children among us.

Ofer Grosbard is mostly a child who likes to play, laugh and be creative. He is also a graduate of the Technion in Computer Engineering, a clinical psychologist, and holds a Ph.D. in conflict resolution. His novels and non-fiction books have been translated into various languages and won awards.
