The story of the Cage family, begun in "Solstice", continues. When things go very, very wrong, she is forced to throw herself on the mercy of the mysterious owner of Chillon castle. Who is Francois Bonivard and how did he come to be so hideously disfigured? Author James Patrick Kelly is a two-time winner of the Hugo Award and has been nominated 10 times for the Nebula Award.
