What You’ll Learn
This course includes Lessons 6-10 from the Mandarin Chinese Level 3 program featuring 2.5 hours of language instruction. Each lesson provides 30 minutes of spoken language practice, with an introductory conversation, and new vocabulary and structures. Detailed instructions enable you to understand and participate in the conversation. Practice for vocabulary introduced in previous lessons is included in each lesson. The emphasis is on pronunciation and comprehension, and on learning to speak Mandarin Chinese.

Excellent way to learn

I am re-listening to all of Pimsleur's
Mandarin and it is surely an excellent and fast way to learn a language. Listening to it a second time I can pepper my conversation with additional phrases and it's still an excellent way to exercise my skills. I got myself a few Hanban textbooks (new practical Chinese reader 1 & 2) like they use for first year university Chinese and have found that Pimsleur has taught me a lot and I breezed through the books in six weeks despite a baby literally crawling around my feet while I studied. The books are valuable for learning to read and the finer points of grammar but the Pimsleur lessons have been the most valuable and make me confident enough to easily chat with the group of Chinese mothers at school pickup each day who understand everything I say and say I have a Beijing accent - I actually get into a bit of trouble because I often sound more fluent than I am and like I lived there for a while so I had to quickly learn the word for 'audiobook'! Keep going, do it every day, even if you have little kids or a busy work life, just get it done, you can do it too, it feels so good to be able to have any conversation you want! My little kids are now doing level 1 mandarin in the car on the way to school each day and they love it too. You can do it and Pimsleur is the way to start.
