Sonja Spencer was the accompanist for the church choir and their upcoming Christmas program. She loved to play the piano; but even more than that she had a secret crush on Ned Forrest who was a tenor in the choir. She was in her early 20's and lived with her grandma while her parents were in Japan on a special assignment for the Air Force. She didn't have a lot of friends due to her shyness and that was one of the reasons she didn't want to go with her parents to Japan. The other reason she didn't want to go was only known to her.

For years she had a secret crush on Ned Forrest. He was her dream guy. He was five years older than she was and he most likely considered her a little kid. Now that she was out of high school, she was more mature, and her looks had definitely improved with her figure filling out in all the right places to attract the attention of a healthy young man. If only she wasn't so shy! Just thinking about talking to him, made her mouth go dry...and her mind would draw a complete blank! At times like this, she wished she wasn't too old to sit on Santa's lap so she could tell him what she really wanted for Christmas!
