I have read Hannah Swenson’s Mysteries before and love the books.

This was my first time listening to the book- and I was pleasantly surprised! The narrator was excellent, the story was good, and as always, the recipes are included, too! (I was a bit nervous that they didn’t include them when I first purchased. )

Great story and recipes at the END not the middle!

This has been my favorite so far and part of it was the story and part of it was the recipes at the end of the story not in the middle. Yay - streamlined mystery!


I get it - recipes at end of chapters in a written book make sense. And I do like a lot of the tips and the unique ingredient twists. In an audio book — mention it and have the reader “stay tuned” at the end. I was just glad I wasn’t driving when I was listening to previous books and could actually fast forward easily.

Amount of cooking mentioned

This book had me gasping whenever something new would be uncovered! I’ve never read a mystery book and I’m glad I started with this one. For a book about a murder mystery in a small town, I’d say half the plot is all the recipes mentioned. You could skip the murder and use this book as a cookbook. The characters made dishes I’ve never heard of or tried. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves to cook and read mysteries.
