Best-selling author John Ringo—a former member of the elite 82nd Airborne Division—and real-life rocket scientist Travis S. Taylor bring an unmatched level of authenticity to their action-packed military science fiction.

Claws That Catch is the fourth volume from their popular Looking Glass series. Humankind’s only interstellar craft, the Vorpal Blade is dispatched to investigate an ancient civilization that may have left vital technology behind. But when the crew finds more than they bargained for, they’ll have to scramble to survive.

There’s something soothing about clever, dedicated people finding creative ways to supply, build, fight enemies, and get along with all types. It helps to be on the side that mostly wins and wants to better life for most!

Miss Moon- a bright one, indeed!

I really enjoyed this series, John Ringo has a great sense of humor. I’ve read several of his series and this is another one that mixes excitement, heartbreak, music references and humor, much like his Black tide series.
I always like to read Sci-Fi that contains Easter eggs, something tells me that John Ringo is a Firefly fan(shiny).
And music references, although I do enjoy listening to Within Temptation, I would’ve liked to have seen a shout out to Nightwish (Ghost Love Score). But then again ya can’t expect EVERYTHING HAHAHA!
I would’ve given it 5 stars for performance but, certain mispronounced acronyms. For instance, the Chief of the boat in the navy is referred to as Cob, one word, not C.O.B. Too much of a mouthful. Also the pronunciation of the Tactical Officer isn’t pronounced Taco, as in the food but Tack-Oh.
Yes, former Marine here, the men’s dept. of the Navy😝
